- Transition from slide to slide will be a dissolve.
- A 2 - Hour video tape will hold 750 slides at 9 seconds each.
- Horizontal 35mm slides will best fill the TV screen however some of the image on the ends will be lost. We will zoom in as much as possible on the main subject.
- Vertical 35mm, Square (126 & 120), and misc. odd size slides will be reduced to fit in the screen (This often results in wide black borders on the sides). For custom cropping, see below.
Presentation of Slides - Each slide must be numbered or in numbered trays which are securely packaged to avoid slippage.
- If secured in stacks, please indicate which end is the first slide. We will make every effort to return the slides in exactly the same order as submitted.
- We will inspect the orientation of each slide and will try to correct backwards and upside down slides to the best of our ability. Duplicate slides may be misjudged due to reversed emulsion.

TOP OF PAGE Quality of Transfer Many factors affect the outcome of slide-to-video transfer. There are inherent difficulties in transferring slides to video that have convinced many video transfer labs to discontinue offering the service. Do you have family memories recorded on slides, with no convenient way to view them or share them with your children, grandchildren, nieces, or nephews? If so, you will probably be very happy with the results of transferring your slides to video. The quality of the photos will not be the same as the original slides, but if it's important to have your memories in a format that's easy to view, store, and share - video/DVD offers many advantages over slides. Are you an advanced photographer who appreciates the beauty and realism of the projected slide? If so, you may not be satisfied with the video version. We suggest that you transfer a few slides and see if you are satisfied with the quality. We have spent a great deal of time experimenting and researching better ways to handle slides. Our transfer compares favorably with other transfer labs, although we cannot hope to compare with broadcast facilities that spend several hundred dollars per slide to maximize the quality. TOP OF PAGE Scripted Slide Shows A Scripted Slide Show can describe a number of types of shows. Please contact us for a cost estimate, as there are numerous factors to be considered. The simplest form of Scripted Slide Show would include an audio tape with beeps indicating when to change the slides. Price is based on the number of slides, whether they are to be straight cut or dissolved, and how long it takes to match audio to slides. If the slides contain graphs and numerous title pages, there may be some custom cropping charges to assure that the whole image is framed in. A more complex type of slide show would be one with inaudible beeps. We would need a written script with slide changes indicated, to know when to change the slides. This type of slide show may require considerably more time to transfer. If the narration is only in a written form, not on cassette, additional narration and audio editing charges may apply. If you intend to have the slide show reproduced for distribution, you may want to consider having the slides rendered to a higher quality video format so that the copies will look better. We suggest transferring it onto a DVD master. The quality of the copies will be much improved over copies from a VHS master and the cost is very little more. There may be other varieties of shows to consider. In general, charges will be based on how long it takes us to produce the video/DVD.
