To clarify, the terms duplication and replication are
often used interchangeably, however, they do represent
different processes. CD Duplication is also known as
‘burning’ and can be done in the home. CD Replication is
a manufacturing process by which master images are
stamped into the extruded poly. Replication requires
more time and intensive management. Both processes
project data, video or audio onto a disc, but
duplication is a much quicker process. DVD Duplication
is also done by burning and large numbers of DVDs can be
duplicated at one time with the use of burner towers.
Duplication produces exact copies of your originals. DVD
Replication uses a glass master to stamp onto the new
DVDs. This process is less expensive when ordering a
high volume but does require more time than DVD
Duplication.
To prepare for your CD Duplication DVD Replication
Services, you will need to prepare your master DVD on
either a DVD-R master or Digital Linear Tape. It’s a
good idea to go ahead and make two master DVD copies in
case something should happen to your DVD in transit to
our office. If you would like a CD or DVD face or wrap
for your project, create the artistic look desired on
commonly used CD or DVD template designs. Be sure to
choose the correct template to fit your project.
