Mini-DV, DV-Cam, Full size DV, Mini-DVCam

We can duplicate from Mini-DV and DV-Cam to VHS or DVD-R. Prices are the same as for other duplicates.

We can also copy tapes to the Mini-DV format. Mini-DVs only come in a 60 minute size so be sure to calculate based on the length of the original tape (a two hour VHS will be two mini-DV duplicates). Extended play (EP mode) Mini-DVs can hold 90 minutes of material, but are not compatible in many mini-DV players. If requested, we can transfer to Mini-DVs using EP mode, but we cannot guarantee that they will work on your player.

Video-CD, MPEG1, Other CD formats

We can transfer your video to various types of CD formats. The quality, length, and compatibility vary according to the file type. In general, the quality is much poorer than other formats. Price is for a video segment up to 20 minutes long. An additional $1.00 per minute is charged if over 20 minutes. Popular file types include:

Video-CD (VCD) – These will play in most computers using the Windows Media Player and in many DVD players. The quality is similar to the VHS format. Maximum recommended length is 50 minutes.

MPEG1 – These are small files which are easy to “click and play” in most computers. They are often used on web sites and in Powerpoint productions. The maximum recommended length per CD is 50 minutes.

Quicktime – These files were originally designed for Apple computers but will play in Windows machines with an easily downloaded program. Recommended maximum length per CD is 25 minutes.

Window Media Files (WMV) – These files play with the Windows Media Player. They are very small files and are often used to email and for web sites. Maximum recommended length is 60 minutes per CD but can be longer.

DVD-R

A DVD-R is a high quality copy which will play in most recently made DVD players. Some older DVD players may be incompatible. We can fit up to 2 hours of full quality program on a DVD. Direct editing to DVD (movies, photos, slides, etc.) is not practical at this time and should be treated as a 2 step process. See Duplication section for quantity discounts.

Video for the Web

We can render short pieces of video to be sent over the Internet. Even short segments form large files which result in long upload and download times. Please specify that it is for the Internet and if a specific file type is needed, let us know. This will be delivered to you on a CD-R. Price listed is for a segment up to 20 minutes long. An additional $1.00 per minute will be charged if over 20 minutes long.

DVC-Pro, Betacam-SP

DVC-Pro and Betacam-SP are broadcast formats mostly used by TV and cable companies. We can transfer them to VHS, DVD, Mini-DV, Etc. Cost is $35.00 per hour plus the standard cost of transfer to the above formats.
